Free Software Downloads

It happens to all of us, we frequently buy gadgets which require us to download its software on the computer. One year down the road when your computer crashes and you have to reload your drivers, how many of you still have all those software disks?

So what happens? You need the software but you cannot find the disks so you go onto your internet search engine to find a ‘free’ driver download? In most cases these downloads can contain spyware, viruses, or malware. As I have told you before:

There is nothing for free on the internet!

Here my advice:

When looking to download your software, go onto a secure search engine such as Google or Yahoo and type in the brand name of your device such as Apple or Sony. Once the results load, make sure you go to the home page of the manufacturer of your product. On the home page look for the link that says ‘Support’.  Under this link you will find a page to download product drivers.

Follow the instructions on this page, it usually asks you to put in the product or model name.

Please listen carefully: make sure you get your product driver only from the manufacturer which made your product and not from any other website!
