The Bait: Typically this type of offer arrives on e-mail when you are feeling at your lowest. It tells of significant pharmaceutical breakthroughs and development of a miracle cure for many slight and serious ailments. They often even talk about ancient remedies that have been rediscovered, offering fast and effective relief from a variety of symptoms. The limited availability of these products and the "buy now before they have all gone" nature of the offer tempt you into sending money in advance of the goods arriving.

The Catch: The patient case histories and medical testimonials are of course all made up by the con men. They may look and sound powerful solutions but they are just a simple emotional trap to get you to send them money for products that you may never get or do not offer the treatment that they claim. Remember, there is strict regulation for the distribution, the descriptions and success claims of any medicines and products that claim to cure cancers, impotency, Alzheimer's disease or even dietary supplements would never legally be offered for sale by e-mail.
