The "PayPal" Email Scam

The biggest con is the PayPal email con. Let me tell you about one!

You have put your cell phone up for sale on ebay and an email arrives that says:

I am very interested in your phone and will pay you more money than you are asking, if you send it to my son for his birthday. Guess were his son lives? Nigeria and he will not only give you more money for your cell phone he will pay for you to post it to his son! This is where the warning “It’s too good to be true” should kick in, but it doesn’t. Then to make you feel safe and to make you feel there is no way you can get conned, he tells you he will put the money into your PayPal Account right away and before you send the phone. As anybody knows that uses PayPal, every time someone pays money into your account you get an email to tell you have received funds. This time however, the email that you receive is from the con-man and not from PayPal. I can tell you, that they are really good email cons as they look just like the genuine ones sent by PayPal. Now, the conman only has to wait and see if you are in the 6 out of 10 people that does not open a window in internet explorer and go to your PayPal account to check if the money is really there! Most of you don’t and so the conman has just got himself one more cell phone to go with the hundreds he has already has conned out of others in the same way.

So tell me! Did PayPal do this to you or did you do it to yourself?

By the way, this is an Email I just received and it is a con....
